גרגשתא

גַּרְגִּשְׁתָּא, גַּרְגּוּשְׁ׳, גַּרְגִּישְׁ׳f. (= גשגש׳; גשש) = h. גּוּש, 1) clod, lump of earth. Targ. Ps. 18:43. Targ. Job 7:5 (h. text גוש). Targ. Y. Gen. 1:24; a. fr.Pl. גַּרְגְּשָׁתָא, גַּרְגִּישָׁ׳. Targ. Job 21:33; 38:38 (h. text רגבים). 2) a certain reddish clay, used also as medicine. B. Mets.40a משום ג׳ the difference of opinion as regards leakage (v. בֶּלַע) arises from the different qualities of the clay used for the vessels.
